:I'm not a professional photographer so can't say for sure. If you read the recommendations at the link they are talking about shooting in the shade of a large building, which I believe leaves you with plenty of light for color saturation, it's also suggested that you shoot late in the day so the light is at a very low angle. Perhaps then you wouldn't need the shade, particularly helpful where it wouldn't be available like at the beach or something. :Of course this is all for amateurs like myself, so I think the big thing is reducing harsh shadows and reflections. Shade and fill flash do that for you. :I just put it out there because I found it helpful and thought others might too. Your sig pic looks nice, for a non Z of course. :-PI know what they are suggesting and I'm suggesting that it's the best recommendation. Use your signature as an example - it's in the shade of the building. The colors are flat & dull. There's no orange or blue hue from the sky, very monotone. Take this image below taken at a charity event. I've broken most rules, mainly taking the shot at 11 am under harsh lighting conditions. But, you won't get these colors if you shoot in the shade.
